Welcome to Phil and Go.

We’re excited you’re interested in helping us make re-fueling a better experience for passenger vehicles across the United States. We know you’re a go getter and self-starter and just want you to know a bit about us and about the basic requirements and all necessary materials to become a Phil.

Who are we?

We are a small group of people who remember the day when full service reigned across the land. We recognize that full-service gasoline can be expensive. We realize that making things simple is great in a world where everyone is busy. We understand that leveraging technology we use every day is the best way to get this done.

Our goal is to provide a cheap, safe, and fast way to fuel any car driver without them ever stepping out of their car, or even rolling down their window. Phil and Go, LLC was founded to take away one of the pain points of modern life – getting out of your car to refill using a dirty pump.

The Basic Requirements to join us.

The basic requirements to become a Phil are:

  • Positive and fun personality.
  • Clean and neat appearance and willingness to wear the appropriate gear.
  • Pass our safety training program and agree to operate with safety always in mind.
  • Hold a valid driver’s license in the state you are pumping fuel.
  • Have a US Social Security Number.
  • You must be 16 years or older.
  • Pass a background check and agree to on-going screening as discussed below.
  • Have access to a smartphone that can download and run the Phil app.

We reserve the right to deny any application for any reason at our sole and exclusive discretion. We also reserve the right to discontinue our relationship with any Phil for any reason at our sole and exclusive discretion.

We want every fill up to be safe for you and the drivers.

Our vision is to provide millions of drivers with simple and safe refueling service every single day. Our goal is to ensure every one of them is safe and comfortable from start to finish. That’s why we want every Phil to think first about safety, both for themselves and for our customers.

  1. You agree that you will not violate any federal, state, or local law, or process or protocol to ensure your safety and the safety of our customers.
  2. You agree that you will focus on safety for yourself and others. That means following federal, state, and local laws, and abiding by all of our policies and training.
  3. You understand that if we update the training materials, you must re-train or your profile is subject to deletion or being turned off until you complete the training.

It’s key that you are respectful and helpful.

Phil and Go is built on the power of a diverse and inclusive community. We want to work with everyone and serve everyone. To maintain the strength of our community, we ask you to treat everyone you meet through Phil and Go with dignity and respect.

Do not do anything to endanger, threaten, or harass any other person you meet on or through the platform. We also want you to feel confident. You should know that we want you to succeed as a Phil.

Help protect and improve the Phil and Go community by alerting us to any situation that makes you feel uncomfortable. When reporting an incident to Phil and Go, provide as many details as possible — the more information we have, the faster we can address your concern.

If the situation is life threatening or you ever feel endangered, please contact 911 first. If you ever report an incident to 911, let us know so we can work with law enforcement and take appropriate action.

If you think of a better way to help our customers, please let us know. We want to learn from everyone and know that our business will get better as you pump more gas.

You agree to on-going background checks.

As part of your onboarding, you agree to allow Phil and Go to conduct a criminal background check. Applicants must provide a valid US social security number in order to undergo the criminal background check, which is conducted by a third-party company, Checkr, Inc. The background check searches national and county-level databases, as well as local courthouse records, for convictions throughout your adult life. This check also searches the United States Department of Justice Sex Offender Registry and the Federal Criminal Records database.

The results of the background check are reviewed by Phil and Go and assessed against applicable regulations and Phil and Go’s internal safety criteria. You may be ineligible to participate with the Phil and Go platform if, at the time of your application, your background check results reveal that you:

  • Are listed on the National Sex Offender Registry database;
  • Have been convicted at any time of a disqualifying violent crime (such as homicide, kidnapping, human trafficking, arson, burglary, carjacking, robbery, or aggravated assault);
  • Have been convicted at any time of a sexual offense (such as rape, sexual assault, or child pornography);
  • Have been convicted at any time of an act of terror;
  • Have been convicted of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs in the past seven years, or longer in some jurisdictions;
  • Have been convicted of a disqualifying fraud-related offense in the past seven years for most jurisdictions, although this time frame may be longer, or shorter, in certain jurisdictions;
  • Have been convicted of a disqualifying drug-related offense in the past seven years for most jurisdictions, although this time frame may be longer, or shorter, in certain jurisdictions; or
  • Have been convicted of a disqualifying theft or property damage offense in the past seven years for most jurisdictions, although this time frame may be longer, or shorter, in certain jurisdictions.

Please be aware that laws governing disqualifying convictions vary significantly by state and city, and the above list is not inclusive of all disqualifying convictions. You may be found ineligible to pump fuel for Phil and Go based on other types of records.

Phil and Go requires an up-to-date background check to remain on the platform. Phil and Go will update our information at our discretion. We will contact you if issues arise which change your ability to participate.

After onboarding, Phil and Go enrolls all active Philers in continuous monitoring of criminal records, which notifies Phil and Go of new pending criminal charges or convictions.

Phil and Go reserves the right to disqualify a Philer at any time, in compliance with applicable law, should their background check reveal any disqualifying offense or for any other safety-related reason at the sole discretion of Phil and Go.

If your background check reveals potentially disqualifying information, you will receive a copy of the report via email along with instructions on how to dispute the results. Keep in mind that on-boarding and background checks may take several weeks to process.

You understand that the provided debit card is only for this activity.

Phil and Go will provide you with a limited-funding debit card that you can use to pay for the gasoline at the pump related exclusively to drivers who schedule and use Services through our Phil and Go App. This debit card shall only be used to perform Services purchased by drivers through the Phil and Go platform and any other usage shall be grounds for immediate termination of the arrangement for you to operate as a Phil.

If you lose your assigned debit card, you will be charged for a replacement card, and it may take up to one (1) month or more for the new card to arrive. During that time, you will not be able to operate as a Phil. You agree that you will not loan your card to anyone and that only you will use the debit card we provide to you.

Operating as a Phil is a privilege and our platform is built for your success. Debit card funds do not belong to you. All debit card funds belong solely to Phil and Go and you shall have no claims on those funds at any time.
